London-based photographer Julia Fullerton-Batten has taken on a “Feral Children” project, recreating images of children throughout history who were abandoned in the wild. She documented cases of disowned or kidnapped children over four continents, and recreated what their lives might have looked like. Check out her amazing images, and the harrowing stories behind them.
1. Lobo Wolf Girl, Mexico, 1845-1852
In 1845, a Mexican girl was seen running with a pack of wolves attacking a herd of goats. A year later she was seen with the wolves again, this time eating a goat. In 1852 she was seen again, this time suckling two wolf cubs, but she ran in to the woods and was never seen again.
